One of the most appealing features of the Timeline format is the ease with which people can find content, says Alan Maginn, a senior analyst who heads Corporate Insight’s social media team.
 
Under the previous format, posts amounted to a vertical laundry list where searching for older posts required constant scrolling. It also did not allow for chronological placement of photos or images and links to years on the left side of the page that take the visitor to the exact date on the Timeline, he says.
 
“It was a lot less visually appealing than it is now,” Maginn says. Timeline allows firms to better show their “personality” through photos and images, he adds.
