Firms overcome fears of Facebook and Twitter

Research and consulting firm Corporate Insight says about 70 per cent of the funds and exchange traded fund firms it tracked are using social media in some way.

Twitter is the most popular social media platform. This year, the industry has averaged 8,000 followers per Twitter page, according to the report. But Vanguard and iShares account for more than half of these.
