Prospecting Resources
This Advisor Monitor Report examines the prospecting resources offered on advisor sites. In this report, we graded firms based on the accessibility of resources, the range of topics discussed and the quality and formatting of the resources available to advisors. We also graded firms based on whether materials are customizable and whether or not talking points are provided.

Firm performance is inconsistent in this report. Two firms earned As, while seven received Bs. Three firms were not considered for this report for offering too little to qualify, and two firms received Ds.
 
Firms performed poorly in terms of accessibility. Only 28% of firms organize their resources within a prospecting resources outlet. Firms also underwhelmed in terms of promoting their resources; only one prospecting promotion was available out of all 14 advisor sites considered in this report.
 
Firms were equally as underwhelming in terms of resources offered. Only 36% of firms incorporate a product promotion within their prospecting resources, while only 28% offer talking points or conversation starters. Fortunately, 64% of firms provide advisors access to a customizable document.
 
Firms offer resources on a range of topics.  Seventy-nine percent of firms address retirement, while 50% offer resources pertaining to college planning. Other topics for which prospecting materials are offered include market volatility, tax-free income planning and diversification. Additionally, 71% of firms provide resources that address the general concept of event planning.
