This Life Insurance Monitor report focuses on how our coverage firms position term life insurance products on their public websites. Term life insurance products offer policyholders protection and death benefits for a specific period of time. Term life policies are traditionally less expensive with lower fixed premiums during the coverage period. In this report, we review the positioning of these products on public websites based on three central aspects – accessibility of information, product page content and relevant product resources. This Life Insurance Monitor report examines the term life insurance product information provided on our coverage firms’ public websites. Our 14 firms were analyzed on the following three key criteria:
The majority of Life Insurance Monitor firms provide access to the term life product information from a product- or insurance-focused submenu tab and from a life insurance overview page. Term life insurance quicklinks featured on the public homepage are offered by 42% of the firms. Lastly, we were pleased to find that at least half of the coverage firms provide information on key policy features, including death proceeds, policy term lengths, optional riders and policy conversion options.
