Generally, statements were attractive and well-organized. Every firm in the Retirement Plan Monitor coverage group provides statements that feature bolded or large section headings. Additionally, 53% implement color within their statements.

This Retirement Plan Monitor Report analyzed the mobile apps available to participants of retirement plans on iPhones, iPads and Android devices. Additionally, we assessed optimized mobile sites, but only in the instances in which apps were unavailable.
The iPhone app was the most common mobile resource; all but two firms assessed in this report feature iPhone apps. Fifty-four percent offer Android-ready apps, while only two of the firms assessed feature apps optimized for the iPad.

Retirement planners should offer participants a well-rounded view of what their retirement may look like. They should provide an account balance which a participant may accrue prior to retirement. They should also list hypothetical monthly income, and they should explore hypothetical expenses, possible alterations to an annual salary and other factors, such as a spouse’s income and retirement plan situation.
