Workplace retirement plans are a very common platform used by professionals to fund their savings for life after a generally lengthy career. It is essential for providers to offer a sufficient amount of account data, ample investment information and a well-rounded collection of tools and resources. This inaugural Retirement Plan Monitor Report introduces the 16 RPM coverage firms and the retirement-account related content available on each of their participant sites. Firms performed well in terms of account information. All but one firm provides access to either a year-to-date or quarterly rate of return. Additionally, 87% of firms feature a PDF statement archive. However, only 31% of firms offer a performance-related chart. Performance was also successful in terms of the tools and resources offered by firms. Seventy-five percent provide access to a multi-step retirement planner. Fifty percent of firms feature a retirement-related questionnaire or quiz. Finally, 56% of firms feature a retirement-related newsletter. Site help features are also abundant. Eighty-one percent of firms offer a centralized message center. Additionally, 68% of firms feature a centralized Help Center and all but one of the firms in our coverage group provide contact information. The report includes the following key findings:
